Once again we have compiled a list of the worst offending roads (by number of reported crashes) over the last decade[i], this time focussing in on the Logan region, to help you identify the road traffic accident black spots to be wary of when on the roads –

1. Pacific Highway, Beenleigh/ Springwood/Loganholme (2,484)
2. Brisbane – Beenleigh Road, Underwood/Waterford/Beenleigh (1,434)
3. Browns Plains Road, Crestmead/Browns Plains/ Marsden (963)
4. Mt. Lindesay Highway, Browns Plains/Beaudesert/Jimboomba (919)
5. Logan Motorway, Logan (481)
6. Chambers Flat Road, Marsden/Park Ridge/ Waterford West (431)
7. Loganlea Road, Slacks Creek/Meadowbrook (385)
8. Kingstons Road, Slacks Creek/Kingston/Loganlea (348)
9. Beenleigh – Redland Bay Road, Loganholme (344)
10. Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road. Beenleigh (318)

Unsurprisingly, the major highway, the Pacific Highway, takes out the top spot by a long way!

In terms of available statistics around fatalities from car accidents in Queensland generally, to the end of August 2021, there have been significant increases in the numbers of passenger fatalities (up 35.8% from the 2016 to 2020 average), motorcycle/moped rider and pillion fatalities (up 46% from the 2016 to 2020 average) and fatalities involving heavy freight vehicles (up 30.3% from the 2016 to 2020 average)[ii].
